Use of Cookies
Some of NAIT’s web pages and applications use cookies. Cookies are small text files stored on a user's device when they visit a website. On NAIT’s website, we use cookies to enhance user experience and provide personalized content. These cookies help us track user preferences, improve website functionality, and analyze site traffic to optimize performance.
NAIT may use cookies for the following reasons:
- To monitor usage and improve the performance of the website
- To help websites remember who you are, and what other websites you have visited recently to offer personalized content
- To enable browsers to save authentication details and/or preferences for you so that you will not have to re-enter them the next time you visit the website
- Targeted advertising or marketing efforts to promote relevant programs or services to our visitors.
Data collected through cookies is used in compliance with applicable privacy laws. If you are concerned about cookies, refer to the help menu in your browser for information on how to disable cookies. By utilizing cookies responsibly, we aim to create a more seamless and customized browsing experience for our users.
Types of Cookies
First-Party Cookies:
First-party cookies are created and placed directly by NAIT. They are specific to the NAIT website that you see in your browser's address bar and are typically used to enhance visitors' browsing experience. These cookies are crucial for website functionality and personalization, as they remember visitors' preferences, settings, and actions taken. For example, they can keep visitors logged in during a session, remember your language settings, or maintain your preferences across visits.
Third-Party Cookies:
Third-party cookies are placed on visitors’ devices by websites other than NAIT. These cookies are commonly used for cross-site tracking, advertising, and analytics. Third-party cookies are mainly utilized for broader purposes, such as targeted advertising and enabling social media features.
For instance, NAIT uses an analytics service from Google, which uses its own cookies to identify and monitor users across various websites and sessions. This helps in delivering ads tailored to your interests by tracking visitors’ online activity on multiple sites, building a profile of your browsing habits. Such data is crucial for advertisers aiming to fine-tune their campaigns and present more relevant ads.
Visitors may opt out of third-party tracking.
Categories of Cookies
We have categorized the cookies as follows:
1. Necessary Cookies
These are the cookies that are essential for the operation of a NAIT website. They enable you to navigate around our site and use its features. Without these cookies, services like secure login areas cannot be provided. These cookies do not collect information about you that could be used for marketing purposes, nor do they remember where you've been on the internet. They are strictly focused on providing essential services and maintaining the security of our connection.
For example, if you opt in to consent for certain types of cookies, the browser will remember this choice to ensure a smoother browsing experience without repeatedly asking for your consent.
2. Performance Cookies
Performance cookies are used to enhance the performance of a website by collecting information on how visitors interact with the site. They help improve user experience by identifying and fixing any issues that may arise, ensuring smooth navigation and efficient loading times.
Performance cookies track pages visited, time spent on the site, and identify any issues, like error messages. For example, these cookies remember items in your shopping cart, ensuring they're still there when you return, facilitating a smoother browsing and shopping experience.
3. Analytics Cookies
Analytics cookies are instrumental in tracking and analyzing how users navigate and interact with a NAIT website. By collecting data on user behavior, preferences, and engagement patterns, these cookies provide valuable insights that empower website owners to enhance their online platforms effectively. The data is aggregated and anonymized to ensure your privacy.
The information gathered by analytics cookies enables services to understand user interactions with specific content, features, and services. This data is pivotal in optimizing the website's performance, identifying areas for improvement, and tailoring the user experience to meet visitors' needs.
4. Advertising Cookies
Advertising cookies track user behavior across websites to personalize advertising content based on their interests and preferences. These cookies enable targeted advertising campaigns, allowing NAIT to reach specific audiences effectively. They are also used to limit the number of times you see an advertisement to help measure the effectiveness of the advertising campaign.
Advertising cookies also include third-party cookies which are set by websites other than the one a user is currently visiting. These cookies enable NAIT to create personalized ads based on users' browsing history, preferences, and interactions with various websites. For instance, when a user searches for specific products or services, third-party cookies track this information and facilitate the display of relevant ads on different websites.
