Course Description

A career in Occupational Health and Safety begins with the knowledge of what is involved in the field of safety. A Canadian Registered Safety Technician’s (CRST) training begins with describing a Hazard Control Program, risk management, inspections, incident investigations, and many more. You will also be able to explain why health and wellness should be integrated into the components of a Safety Management System. This course is intended to enhance your connection between theory and industry practice. Upon successful completion of this foundational course, you will be able to identify the components of a Safety Management System and Occupational Health and Safety as well as legal obligations of Canadian employers. It is recommended that you work in safety and/or have access to the expertise of a safety professional before enrolling in this course.
