Course Description

A key component of Occupational Health and Safety is hazard identification, assessment, and control. A Canadian Registered Safety Technician’s (CRST) training must include this component as workplace hazards are present in every workplace. Identify hazards and develop a risk assessment matrix to become more aware of the risks in your environments. With this information, you will be able to suggest controls to prevent incidents from occurring. This course is intended to enhance your connection between theory and industry practice. Upon successful completion of this foundational course, you will be able to identify potential and existing hazards in a workplace, assess the hazards in terms of risk, and recommend and assess the effectiveness of controls. It is recommended that you work in safety and/or have access to the expertise of a safety professional before enrolling in this course. It is also recommended that you complete CRST101 before enrolling in this course.
