Course Description

There is a potential for workers in some industries to be exposed to hazardous substances on the job. Occupational hygiene is the component of occupational health and safety that addresses those potential exposures by monitoring, evaluating, measuring the level of exposure, and identifying the controls necessary to eliminate or minimize the risk. There are two components to this course: theory and practical. With the knowledge gained in this course, you’ll be able to explain your role in this area of health and safety and be able to do fundamental hygiene measurements. It is recommended that you work in safety and/or have access to the expertise of a safety professional before enrolling in this course. This course is intended to enhance your connection between theory and industry practice. It is required that you complete CRST102 Introduction to Safety Fundamentals before enrolling in this course.
