Course Description

If you have completed Fourth Class Part A and Part B theory but do not have the work experience required to become an ABSA-certified Fourth Class Power Engineer, this course is right for you.

Gain hands-on power engineering experience in this interactive lab. Explore small high-pressure boilers and their elements including boiler fittings, pipe fittings, refrigeration systems and basic controls to understand their the operations for steam generation.

With the hands-on training that you accomplish in this course, you will have the work experience required to become certified as a Fourth Class Power Engineer. 

For registration into this course, you must have successfully completed both Part A and Part B 4th Class theory courses. If these were completed at a different institution, then you will need to submit proof of completion to our program office. Submit your transcript or ABSA exam results by email to PECML@nait.ca.

You must have a NAIT Student ID number to register for this course. If you do not have one, please go to www.nait.ca and choose the ‘Continuing Education Student Portal’ option. This will prompt you to set up an account.

Please note - students require WHMIS 2015 training that was completed within the past two years.
