Course Description

Explore the benefits of using photogrammetric applications. With the skills you gain in this course, you will be able to implement photogrammetry techniques and create acquisition strategies for your endeavours. Dating back to the 1850s, photogrammetry uses photographs to take measurements and determine distances. Since then, acquisition techniques have evolved from conventional analog aerial photography to cutting-edge digital aerial sensors, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), and drones. Aerial data acquisition can be used in enterprises ranging from resource management, landscape design, and forestry, to property assessment, architectural reconstruction, and disaster response. As a graduate of this course you will be able to describe the connection between photogrammetry and LiDAR (Light, Detection and Ranging) laser scanning. Enroll in this course to explore the journey from traditional mapping techniques to exciting 3D Softcopy data capture. Please ensure that you have a basic understanding of GIS terminology, data types, and geospatial analysis methods before registering for this course. 3D (Red/Blue) stereoscopic eyeglasses is required for this course.
