Introduction to Small Engine Mechanics

Do you have an interest in small engine repair, mechanics or maintaining equipment? If you are a hobbyist looking to improve your skills and knowledge, NAIT's small engine mechanics courses offer effective training opportunities from expert instructors.

Our courses relate to a wide range of small engines including lawn mowers, snowmobiles and garden tractors. We focus on small engine repair, service and maintenance techniques that will help you keep your equipment in fantastic working condition.

Begin the program online, covering theory of 2 and 4-stroke engine operations. In class, study small engines with knowledgeable instructors who will inform you of small engine design, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting. You will also spend time in our fully equipped shop disassembling and reassembling engines and components. With shop practice, you will be able to tackle your own repairs and confidently discuss maintenance with mechanics.
