This certificate covers the POCUS Fundamentals, as well as EFAST and RUSH, Cardiac, Abdomen and Pelvis, and finally Chest and Lungs. 


Eligibility Requirements

Who is eligible to take POCUS courses?

Based on the provincial Health Professions Restricted Activity Regulation, only certain regulated health professionals are legally able to perform some or all the skills delivered in the courses of the Point-of-Care Ultrasound program. Please review the table below to see which courses are accessible by your profession.

After reviewing and registering for your chosen course, you must submit proof of your active registration with your profession's regulating body using our POCUS Training - Active Registration Submission form. If you fail to submit this information before your course start date, your enrolment in the course will be cancelled.

*The Alberta College of Paramedics has approved this program as meeting the requirements for the advanced practice endorsement in point-of-care ultrasound for advanced care paramedics (ACPs).

**Includes Radiologic Technologists, Radiation Therapists, Nuclear Medicine Technologists, and Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists.
