An electrifying career in Power Engineering

Power Engineers are often described as the unsung heroes of industry. A world without Power Engineers is a world without accessible electric power, no facilities to manufacture products and no fuel to power vehicles! While not all Power Engineers are involved with electrical power generation, many others work providing:

- Heating, cooling, and ventilation of large commercial buildings

- Potable water and sanitary drainage systems for communities

- High-pressure, high-temperature steam to extract oil

- Refrigeration for large plants storing perishable food

NAIT's Part-Time and Online Power Engineering courses are offered for 5th, 4th, and the 3rd class level. These courses help preare students to write the Alberta Boilers Safety Association (ABSA) Administered Provincial Examinations and provide them with the foundational knowledge and skills to gain provincially recognized certification and begin a rewarding career in power engineering.
