Course Description

One of the most important roles of a project manager is ensuring that each project is well-defined and that its scope—defined by cost, quality, and schedule—are managed throughout the project life cycle. Upon successful completion of this course you will be able to create a project charter to initiate a project and define parameters essential to management of project scope. This essential task enables project managers to add value by ensuring that project outcomes meet client requirements. Graduates of this course will be able to initiate a project by developing a project charter document to define project parameters such as rationale, benefits, key deliverables, assumptions, risks and constraints, budget, organization, and governance structures. You will also be able to implement formal acceptance procedures, scope change control, scope verification, and how to implement lessons learned during the project cycle. Finally, you will be able to explore the differences between internal projects and those managed through third party organizations and how these differences may impact project implementation.
