Course Description

Build your practical knowledge of power engineering topics related to industrial plants and heavy industry, including heating plants, pulp and paper operations, and oil industry operations. Explore thermodynamics, elementary mechanics, safety, piping, high-pressure boilers and feedwater treatment. If you have experience working with low- or high-pressure plants or if you are interested in working in industrial settings, then this course is right for you. With the knowledge that you gain in this course, you will be able to prepare for the Fourth Class Provincial Exam: Part A.

Recommended: Grade 10 English, Mathematics and Physics or equivalent.

Notes

A Mobius license is required to access the practice exercises and exams in this course. A one-year license is $39.95 and is transferable to other Power Engineering courses.

Classes are delivered online via Microsoft Teams. A working webcam, microphone and speakers are required.

There are three supervised tests which must be written in person, either at NAIT or at a pre-approved testing centre if more than 100 km from campus.
