Course Description

Business Analytics is the practice of iterative, methodical exploration of an organization’s data, with an emphasis on statistical analysis. Upon successful completion of this course you will be able to apply a business analytics process for planning and implementing business analytical solutions. Business Analytics is becoming the primary driver of strategy and competitive advantage in the business world today. Analytics and quantitative decisions are used to improve or optimize business processes such as identifying the best customers, selecting the ideal price, calculating the best supply chain routing, or choosing the best people to hire. Graduates of this course will be able to identify steps to transform data into relevant information by designing and developing business analytics models. You will be able to describe the fundamentals of descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics, and discover how analytics can leverage information to provide decision-makers with hindsight, insight, and foresight for process improvement or optimization.
