Course Description

This course is for business professionals who are planning to apply the Agile philosophy in their business. It covers the learning objectives of Agile Analysis - IIBA®-AAC certification based on Agile Extension to the BABOK® Guide version 2. In product development terms, Agile is a collection of business development approaches that focus on people, communications, the product, and accommodating frequent business changes. All agile methodologies, frameworks, techniques, and tools, such as Crystal, Scrum, User Story, and Estimating have one thing in common: compliance with the Agile Manifesto and the 12 Agile Principles. Agile approaches are based on delivering more frequent and more often working releases of the product. Scrum is an agile framework for developing, delivering, and sustaining complex systems, with an initial emphasis on software development, although it has been utilized in other areas including research, advanced technologies, and even sales and marketing. Scrum focuses on continuous improvement, accommodating change, team feedback, and delivering quality products. It is intended for teams of ten or fewer members, who divide their products into consecutive targets that can be achieved through time-boxed iterations. During the course, students will participate in a series of scenarios that go through all the Agile lifecycle activities from visioning, planning, writing stories, sizing, prioritizing, building a release plan, and executing the key sprint/release meetings. The students will learn about the following topics: • Agile history, Manifesto, and mindset • Principles behind Scrum and the Agile Manifesto • Scrum Stages, Roles, Artifacts, and Activities • Agile Techniques for Business Professionals • Introducing the three different horizons for business analysis in Agile, namely, Delivery, initiative, and strategy.
